Welcome To El Salvador: Beyond Crimes

This blog explores the diverse amounts of beauty this culture offers in order to abandon the stereotypes that El Salvador is a criminal dominated country.

As someone who was born and raised in El Salvador, I can personally tell you El Salvador is a country filled with beauty. Not only does its beauty resonate with its beautiful historic sites, and touristic places, but also because of its people and traditions. This country has one of their biggest traditional days which is September 15 when they celebrate the Independence Day. On this day they celebrate by dancing and having parades around their city. On this day various of their traditional dishes are found at every cornet of the country. If you know pupusas will always be found, as they are the nation dish of El Salvador.

El Salvador is a very bright, fun, and humbling place to be. while it Is a country that struggles economically. beyond its poverty people in El Salvador overcome their hardships by dancing to their favorite danza. As its shown on the picture above, they use very colorful vestment to show pride and joy of being part of the history of El Salvador. Schools all around the country prepare their students to participate on the eventful day of the Independence on September 15. This country is a very religious oriented, as most of its people are catholic. While they celebrate the Independence Day with dances. food, and parades, they also offer this day to honor their protector which is El Divino Salvador del Mundo.

One interesting fact about El Salvador is that it has been very popular because of its beaches. One of the beaches well known and visited by tourists is the beach at La Libertad. It has been said that La Libertad is one of the beaches most preferred by 70% of the tourists that visit the country. Something interesting about the beaches of El Salvador is that most of the beaches not only serves El Salvador as a tourist place for vacationers, but it’s also how people in this country provide for they families as some beaches are home to a variety of fish.

With this information I hope I was able to show that EL Salvador has many topics to cover other than criminal violence and dangerous gangs. One picture does not capture a country, and El Salvador is more than just crimes, it’s beauty, history, and delicious food.
